Blagnac. Vinyl’Strip: the exhibition that gives colour to vinyl records
The Odyssud showroom will host the Vinyl’Strip exhibition from January 10 to February 15.
Visitors will be able to admire a glimpse of the Fonds Arnaud, a specialized collection of the Médiathèque Musicale de Paris that brings together two passions: music and the 9th art.
Colourful or sober, poetic or wild, some 100 vinyl record sleeves illustrate in a unique way the work of the greatest cartoonists.Signed by Moebius, Bilal, Tardi, Hugo Pratt, Gotlib, Hergé and many others, the covers feature French and international singers, from Jimi Hendrix to L’affaire Louis Trio, Paolo Conte and Grateful Dead. The exhibition crosses eras, embracing all styles of music, rock, jazz, electro, film soundtracks…each time enlarging the palette of possibilities of musical illustration in a style and format specific to the vinyl record.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, January 9 at 7 p.m., preceded by musical entertainment by a DJ starting at 6:15 p.m.
So that the public can take full advantage of it, the exhibition room will offer guided tours and meetings with enthusiasts of the Toul’9 association around 2 subjects: “Comics and poetry” on 18 January for the Night of Reading (which will be celebrated throughout the building) and “Comics and music” on 8 February.Every Saturday, game booklets and free workshops will allow you to create your own cover by hijacking a famous illustrated character.
